On 12 April 2022, Sun Ferry was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation by the Marine Port District in recognition of the Company’s active participation in the Sea Safety Ambassador Scheme and offering promotional platforms to disseminate information to the public on sea safety.
Safety has always been Sun Ferry’s core commitment and the Company has spared no effort in ensuring safe navigation by conducting regular inspections on vessel components, electrical and fire service installations, etc. Crew members are also provided with safety training in different scopes and are arranged to participate in maritime drills. In addition, Sun Ferry has provided a passenger ferry for the Government’s inter-departmental maritime rescue exercises while officers and crew members onboard could strengthen their preparedness and response capabilities in handling incidents at sea.
Apart from disseminating safety messages to its staff through company publications, Sun Ferry also optimises the use of pier notice boards and onboard video broadcast to promote maritime safety guides to passengers. Meanwhile, Sun Ferry continues to cultivate exchanges and work closely with the counterparts to contribute towards the goal of ensuring sea safety.
