From 8:00am to 12:00nn, Sun Ferry Services Company Limited (“Sun Ferry”) has increased the number of sailings from Central to Cheung Chau by more than 200% with around four to five sailings departing per hour in average, to meet the upsurge in passenger demand of ferry service to Cheung Chau to attend the Grand Parade to be held at around 1:30pm today. The total number of passengers going to Cheung Chau increases 136% compared with the same period last year (during the pandemic), and there is 9% decrement when compared with the same period in 2019 when last Grand Parade took place.

Currently, passengers travelling from Central to Cheung Chau shall need to wait longer for embarkation. Sailing schedules and departure time shall be adjusted according to the actual situation or subject to the instructions of the Hong Kong Police or related government departments. Sun Ferry has deployed all available stand-by vessels to provide additional sailings and the maximum hourly carrying capacity is over 200% more than usual. Passengers are requested to follow the instructions of pier staff and the Hong Kong Police and wait patiently for embarkation.
