To provide quality service and fulfill the social responsibility to island residents, Sun Ferry has decided to extend the Free Upgrade offer from 9th October 2026 onwards, until further notice. Under this arrangement, holders of Personalised Octopus with “Student Status” who purchased Central—Cheung Chau “Student Monthly Ticket”can enjoy Free Upgrade offer from Ordinary Class to Deluxe Class when taking ordinary ferry sailing. We remain committed to caring for the community, supporting education development in the Outlying Islands, and nurturing the growth of students.

Eligible persons of enjoying the offer
  • Holders of Personalised Octopus with “Student Status” who purchased Central—Cheung Chau “Student Monthly Ticket”

Offer period
  • Passengers can enjoy Free Upgrade offer from Ordinary Class to Deluxe Class from   9th October 2026 onwards when taking ordinary ferry sailing, until further notice

Arrangement of the offer
  • No fare adjustment will be charged after tapping the registered Octopus with Sun Ferry’s “Student Monthly Ticket”on the Deluxe-Class Octopus machine.
  • After tapping on the Deluxe Class Octopus machine, passenger must keep the automatically printed “Deluxe-Class Voucher”and present it to our crewmembers before boarding the Deluxe-Class cabin. 

***Please note that the Free Upgrade Offer is not applicable for taking fast-ferry sailings.

Please Note:

If passengers are not using personalized Octopus with “Student Status” for purchasing Sun Ferry’s “Student Monthly Ticket”, please apply for personalized Octopus with “Student Status”via the“MTR Student Travel Scheme”website, and then contact Sun Ferry Customer Service Division to update the registered Octopus record of “Student Monthly Ticket”.
