Sun Ferry will distribute the "Cheung Chau Bun Festival - Special Passage Boarding Ticket" ("Boarding Ticket") to passenger who purchases the Cheung Chau Monthly Ticket or Student Monthly Ticket (“Monthly Ticket or Student Monthly Ticket”) of May 2025, to minimise the impact posing to the commuters subsequent to the closure of “Monthly Ticket & Multi Ride Ticket Passage” on Bun Festival.  Each Monthly Ticket or Student Monthly Ticket holder will receive one Boarding Ticket that entitles the holder to use the Special Passages at Central Pier 5 & Cheung Chau Pier respectively and make round-trip of ordinary class of ordinary ferry to/from Cheung Chau at the designated period of time during Bun Festival (Monday, 5 May 2025). Please pay attention to the following distribution arrangements:

1. Monthly Ticket or Student Monthly Ticket purchased at the “Customer and Octopus Service Centre” at Cheung Chau Pier and Central Pier 5

Pier staff will distribute a Boarding Ticket to the passenger immediately upon purchase of the Monthly Ticket or Student Monthly Ticket at the “Customer and Octopus Service Centre” at Cheung Chau Pier and Central Pier 5. If passenger does not receive the Boarding Ticket, please approach our staff at once.  No replacement will be provided afterwards.

2. From 27 April to 1 May, Monthly Ticket purchased through the Sun Ferry Mobile App or at the “Monthly Ticket Self-Service Vending Machine” at Cheung Chau Pier

Passengers who purchased the Monthly Ticket through the Sun Ferry Mobile App or at the "Monthly Ticket Self-Service Vending Machine" at Cheung Chau Pier from 27 April to 1 May may collect their Boarding Tickets at the following special service counters during the designated periods:

  • Near the Freight Ticket Office of Cheung Chau Pier from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm on 2 May 2025 (Friday), or
  • At the first floor of Central Pier 5 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on 3 May 2025 (Saturday).

Monthly Ticket holders are required to present the relevant mobile purchase record or the Octopus card (with the Octopus number clearly displayed) used for purchasing the Monthly Ticket at the "Monthly Ticket Self-Service Vending Machine" to our staff for verification, and sign the collection register upon receipt.

No re-arrangement will be made if Monthly Ticket holders fail to collect the Boarding Tickets during the designated periods.

3. From 2 May to 4 May, Monthly Ticket purchased through the Sun Ferry Mobile App or at the “Monthly Ticket Self-Service Vending Machine” at Cheung Chau Pier

Please note that the day following the final date of May monthly ticket sales for the Cheung Chau route coincides with this year's Bun Festival. As a result, passengers who purchase monthly tickets through the Sun Ferry Mobile App or the "Monthly Ticket Self-Service Vending Machines" at Cheung Chau Pier between 2 May and 4 May will be unable to collect their boarding tickets at the special service counters. Passengers are advised to purchase monthly tickets and collect the Boarding Ticket immediately at the "Customer and Octopus Service Centres" at Cheung Chau Pier or Central Pier No. 5. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

The Boarding Ticket is composed of two tear-off ferry tickets for Cheung Chau-bound trip and Central-bound trip. Ticket holders should not tear off the ferry tickets by themselves. Should the ticket(s) find damaged and/or unidentified, it will become void.
