  • Maintenance and annual survey of all Ferries ;
  • Liaise with technicians for repair works at CSW Depot;
  • Communicate with ship's engineers for daily operations;
  • Arrange spare parts/stores for all Ferries;
  • Provide training for ship's engineers;
  • Carry out inspection of ships regularly;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering;
  • Good at computer, problem solving and communication skills;
  • At least 5 years' experience in marine engineering; 
  • Certificate of Construction Industry Safety Training, and
  • Certificate of Shipboard Cargo Handling Basic Safety Training.
  • Driving licence (private car and light goods vehicle) preferrable;
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Engineer.

  • To be responsible for examining and securing the mooring ropes during the docking procedure at the pier; 
  • To perform other duties as assigned by the Coxswain and Company.

Working Location

  • Staff will be appointed to work for our piers including but not limited to Central/ North Point/ Kowloon City/ Hung Hom/ Outlying Islands subject to our operational needs.

Working Hours

  • 6 working days per week, Shift Holiday; 
  • 10 hours per shift and required to attend shift duty covering the time from 5:45 a.m. to 1:15 a.m. or Day on / Day off pattern.

Duties

Undertake duties as a marine engineering consultant for the buyer, “Sun Ferry Services Company Limited”, and on the co-ordination and supervision of construction of new vessels performing the following:

1. as a team leader of the site supervision team (including hull, deck, mechanical & electrical engineering)
2. design and drawing approval;
3. on-site supervision and reporting; and
4. commissioning, dock and sea trial acceptance.

Those duties include but not limited to the following tasks: 

  • lead the site supervision team to carry out their tasks (including hull, deck, electrical/mechanical engineering);
  • check and approve shipbuilder’s relevant technical drawings and calculations;
  • supervise, inspect and witness on site the test / trial regarding the main propulsion system, auxiliary machineries and systems of new buildings in compliance with requirements of the Class and Hong Kong Marine Department (HKMD);
  • resolve all related construction issues on-site;
  • conduct the acceptance inspection, tests and trials including the dock and sea trials at the yard and in Hong Kong;
  • provide professional advice to the buyer and shipbuilders;
  • co-ordinate with shipbuilders, Class Surveyors, Government representatives such as HKMD and Government consultant in testing all machineries and equipment for the ship building project; and
  • perform any other duties as required by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor Degree in Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering; 
  • Minimum 10 years' working experience in marine industry with 5 years’ working experience as Engineering Superintendent or Engineering Manager for ship operators/owners; 
  • Having management experience in local ferry is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good knowledge in Classification Society and HKMD rules and regulations; and
  • Knowledge in computer (MS Office and Technical Drawings).

OR

  • Obtain Foreign Going Class 1 Marine Engineer Certificate with working experience as Chief Engineer onboard sea-going vessels or high speed ferries; 
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communications skills; 
  • Good knowledge in Classification Society and HKMD rules and regulations; and
  • Knowledge in Computer (MS Office and Technical Drawings). 

Duties

Undertake duties as a naval architect for the buyer, “Sun Ferry Services Company Limited”, on the supervision of construction of new vessels performing the following:

1. design and drawing approval;
2. on-site supervision and reporting; and
3. commissioning, dock and sea trial acceptance.

Those duties include but not limited to the following tasks: 

  • check and approve shipbuilder’s relevant drawings and calculations such as General Arrangement, structural design for hull and superstructure, outfitting, stability, resistance/powering, model test reports, etc.; 
  • supervise, inspect and witness the test and trial on site regarding the construction of the hull, superstructure, outfitting and other related issues of new buildings in compliance with requirements of the Class and Hong Kong Marine Department (HKMD); 
  • resolve all construction related issues on-site; 
  • provide professional advice to the buyer and shipbuilders;
  • co-ordinate and organise the effort and activities of other team members, shipbuilders, Class Surveyors, Government representatives such as HKMD and Government consultant; and
  • perform any other duties as required by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor Degree in Naval Architecture;
  • Minimum 10 years’ working experience in marine industry with 5 years’ post degree working experience in shipbuilding yards; 
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good knowledge in Classification Society and HKMD rules and regulations; and
  • Knowledge in computer (MS Office and Technical Drawings).

OR

  • Completion of apprenticeship in shipyard with knowledge / training for technical drawings, welding & hull construction;
  • Minimum 10 years’ working experience in shipbuilding yards with 5 years’ working experience on aluminium vessels (preferably carbon fibre vessels) as well; 
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Good knowledge in Classification Society and HKMD rules and regulations; and
  • Knowledge in Computer (MS Office) & CAD.

Duties

Undertake the electrical duties for the buyer, “Sun Ferry Services Company Limited”, on the construction of new vessels performing the following:

1. design and drawing approval;
2. on-site supervision and reporting; and
3. commissioning, dock and sea trial acceptance.

Those duties include but not limited to the following tasks:

  • check and approve shipbuilder’s electrical drawings;
  • supervise, inspect and witness on site all the tests and trials regarding the electrical systems and networks, installation of all electrical cables and switchboards, electronic navigational equipment and electrical machineries of new buildings in compliance with requirements of the Class and Hong Kong Marine Department (HKMD); 
  • resolve all construction related issues on-site;
  • conduct the acceptance inspection, tests and trials including the dock and sea trials at the yard and in Hong Kong;
  • provide professional advice to the buyer and shipbuilders;
  • co-ordinate with shipbuilders, Class Surveyors and Government representatives such as HKMD and Government consultant; and
  • perform any other duties as required by the employer.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering; and
  • 10 years’ working experience in marine field with 5 years’ working experience in supervisor rank;
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good knowledge in Classification Society and HKMD rules and regulations; and
  • Knowledge in computer (MS Office and Technical Drawings).

OR

  • Completion of apprenticeship in shipyard with knowledge / training for major overhaul of electrical systems, motors and electrical machineries;
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good knowledge in Classification Society and HKMD rules and regulations; and
  • Knowledge in computer (MS Office and Technical Drawings).

OR

  • Minimum 10 years’ working experience in marine field with 5 years’ working experience in supervisor rank;
  • Working experience as an electrical engineer preferably onboard sea-going vessels or shipyards; 
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communications skills; 
  • Good knowledge in Classification Society and HKMD rules and regulations; and
  • Knowledge in Computer (MS Office) and Electrical Drawings.
